McSorley's Old Ale House
McSorley's is an East Village landmark that first opened in 1854, and is the oldest bar in Manhattan. McSorley's serves two kinds of beer: McSorley's Light and McSorley's Dark. There is sawdust on the floor, and historic bric-a-brac, photos and news clippings cover the walls. On weekdays it is a comfortable place to enjoy their tasty brews. On weekends, the venue is popular with the locals and tourists alike. McSorley's did not allow women in the venue until the 1970s, and even today the crowd is primarily made up of men.

This bar is just plain awesome! There is so much history here that can literally be seen etched onto the walls. And the fact that they only have two beers is great too. The plan is simple. Drink beer with good friend and have a great time. Perfection as long as you don't mind a line.
